Picture Frame Visualizer: Try Frames and Mats on Your Art
Upload your art, try 10 frames with real frame width, an optional mat, and mat color on a plain white wall, and read the finished outer size before you buy a frame.
How it works
Upload your art
Processed locally in your browser, nothing is sent to a server.
Try frames and mats
Pick a frame, adjust its width, and add a mat with its own width and color.
Read the size, download
See the finished outer size and the nearest standard frame, then download a preview.
Choosing a frame and mat
A wider frame reads heavier and more formal; a thin frame lets the art carry the wall. A mat gives the eye a resting place before the frame and protects the print from touching the glass, but it also adds its own width to the finished outer size on every side. The standard frame sizes chart has the common outer sizes this tool’s readout is checked against.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded to a server?▾
No. The frame and mat preview renders entirely in your browser using canvas. Your art is never uploaded until you choose to open it in the editor, and by then you're signed in and in control of it.
Why can I only try 10 frames here?▾
This free tool shows 10 popular frames so the page stays fast and the choice stays simple. The other 40 frames in the catalog are one click away, in the editor, where you can also place the framed piece in a real room photo instead of a plain wall.
How does mat width change the frame size?▾
A mat sits between your art and the frame, so it adds its own width to the finished outer size on every side, on top of the frame's own width. Widen the mat and the outer size grows even though your print size hasn't changed: the readout below the preview updates with every change.
Can I use the downloaded preview commercially, like in an Etsy listing?▾
Yes. The preview is a rendering of your own art in a frame you chose, at a size capped to keep the page fast, with no watermark or link added to the image.
What does the editor add that this page doesn't?▾
The editor places your framed art in a real room photo instead of a plain wall, adds the other 40 frames, and lets you export at full resolution. This page hands your art, size, and frame choice straight into it, so you don't upload twice.
